| Maybe it was all an excuse to buy a sawzall. The plaster & laithe walls included big tufts of real horsehair from turn-of-the-century horses. We replaced them with insulated drywall. We uncovered an old metal frame that once held a wood stove. We did our own demolition, tile removal, backsplash tiling and cabinet installation, but we contracted out the plumbing, electrical work and drywall. Thank god. And when it was nearly finished, we celebrated by cooking a delicious Thanksgiving dinner! Doesn't the kitchen look better with family in it? | |||
